Accident Description:

While performing demolition work at a construction site in Queens, our client and other members of his crew were working on the lower level of the structure. As part of the demolition process, coworkers above were cutting rebar connected to a concrete section of the building.

Without warning, a large portion of the structure suddenly collapsed. A concrete beam and an attached wall gave way and fell in an uncontrolled manner, crashing down onto our client and burying him beneath the rubble.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, and our client was rescued from the debris and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of the serious injuries he sustained.

Injury Summary:

As a result of the demolition collapse, our client sustained serious orthopedic injuries, including fractures to his hip, leg, ribs, and wrist, after being struck by falling debris. He also suffered injuries to his neck and back that required surgical treatment, hospitalization, and a lengthy course of rehabilitation.

Settlement Result:

We at Oresky & Associates, PLLC, were able to secure a $7.3 million pre-trial settlement to help support our client’s long-term medical needs and future care.
