$9 Million Settlement for a Bronx Worker Seriously Injured After Falling More Than 10 Feet at a Construction Site
Supreme Court, Bronx County
Accident Description:
While working on the sixth floor of a building under construction in the Bronx, our client, a construction worker, was seriously injured in a sudden and unexpected fall. At the time of the incident, he was performing his assigned duties while walking across the work surface on the sixth floor.
As he stepped forward, a floor panel beneath him suddenly gave way because it was not properly secured. The panel flipped downward without warning, causing our client to fall more than 10 feet to the concrete surface below.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene, and our client was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted for treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
Injury Summary:
As a result of the fall, our client suffered devastating injuries, including a severe fracture of the left thigh bone that required emergency surgery the same day, fractures to both wrists, spinal compression fractures, and injuries to his hips, knee, ankle, and leg. He also sustained a mild traumatic brain injury with loss of consciousness.
Settlement Result:
We at Oresky & Associates, PLLC, were able to obtain a $9,000,000 settlement to help secure our client’s future following life-altering injuries sustained at the construction site.
