$6.5 Million Settlement for a Queens Worker Seriously Injured After Falling from an A-Frame Ladder at a Job Site
Supreme Court, Queens County
Accident Description:
While performing interior construction work at a job site in Queens, our client was assigned to finish installing a wall-mounted cabinet as part of an ongoing renovation project. To complete the task, he was required to work from an A-frame ladder that had been left in place by his foreman.
As our client climbed the ladder and began securing the cabinet to the wall, the ladder suddenly shifted and tipped over. The ladder was old and lacked proper rubber footing, causing it to move unexpectedly and resulting in our client falling onto the floor, landing on his back and right side.
Although he initially attempted to continue working, his pain worsened throughout the day. He ultimately sought emergency medical treatment the following day due to the severity of his injuries.
Injury Summary:
Following the ladder fall, our client suffered injuries to multiple areas of his body, including his neck, back, shoulders, knees, and hip. These injuries required prolonged medical treatment and resulted in ongoing pain and mobility limitations.
Settlement Result:
We at Oresky & Associates, PLLC, secured a $6,500,000 settlement on behalf of our client, providing meaningful compensation for permanent spinal and orthopedic injuries.
